Negotiations Update
I am pleased to announce that the Faculty Association members have voted in favor of ratifying the new Faculty Agreement. Ninety five percent of the voters were in favor of ratification. I would like to thank all Faculty Association members who took the time to vote.
The Board of Trustees voted to approve the new Agreement at the Board meeting on Wednesday, August 24th. The new Agreement it will be implemented starting with this Fall semester. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at ext. 5752 or via email.

Puttin' On The Hits
The Faculty Association sponsors an annual student scholarship fundraiser known as
Puttin' On The Hits. In the show faculty, staff, administrators and students lip sync to a variety of songs from famous groups, musicians and Broadway shows.
For the past four years, the show has been written, produced and directed by Joan Sholars, Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science.
This year's 2011 performances will be:
Friday evening - April 1st at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday April 2nd - Matinee at 3:00 p.m. and evening performance 7:30 p.m.
All net proceeds from the show are awarded to Mt. SAC students as scholarships. In 2010 the Association awarded over $14,000 to deserving Mt. SAC students. The scholarships are awarded at the Student Awards ceremony.
This year the performances will take place on April 1st and 2nd. Our goal is to award $20,000 in scholarships from the proceeds of the show. If you miss the show but would like to contribute to the scholarship program please mail your tax deductable donation to:

Retirement / Tenure Tea
The Faculty Association sponsored Retirement/Tenure Tea is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 from 12 -1:30 p.m. in the Faculty Association Conference Room (115), building 23. Faculty Association members who are retiring at the end of the 2009-10 academic year and those receiving tenure will be honored. Lunch will be provided. Please join us in celebrating our outstanding faculty!
